Virtical deploys Peplink Private LTE at Lago Lago Festival

Modern festivals depend on far more than a reliable internet connection. From cashless payments and sponsor activations to operational monitoring and visitor Wi-Fi, every digital service relies on a network that performs under pressure.

During Lago Lago festival, Virtical Event Networking, a Peplink partner of Frontier EU, deployed a robust connectivity solution based on a Private LTE network and Peplink technology. Designed specifically for temporary event environments, the solutions delivered secure, high-performance connectivity across the festival site, supporting both business-critical operations and visitor-facing services.

Challenge

Providing reliable connectivity at a temporary festival site is challenging. Critical services must remain online despite large crowds, changing weather conditions and the limited infrastructure typically available at event locations.

For Lago Lago festival, the network needed to support multiple independent services across the venue while remaining easy to deploy and centrally manage. At the same, essential operational applications had to remain unaffected by visitor traffic or congestion on public mobile networks.

Solution

Virtical deployed a dedicated Private LTE network as the backbone for the festival’s operational connectivity, complemented by Peplink networking solutions for internet access and edge connectivity.

Visitor connectivity

The deployment connected a wide variety of services across the festival grounds. The brand activation stands received its own dedicated Wi-Fi connection, allowing visitors and staff to use the activation without impacting other services on the network. Mobile point-of-sale terminals were equipped with SIM cards, enabling reliable cashless payments throughout the venue without requiring fixed network infrastructure.

Visitors were offered public Wi-Fi through a Peplink B One 5G, providing a centrally managed internet connection with load balancing for improved performance and availability. A separate LTE/Wi-Fi router extended connectivity to the parking area, ensuring staff remained connected even outside the main festival grounds.

Monitoring and security

To support regulatory requirements, the sound measurement station near the main stage was connected via a dedicated Private LTE connection. This ensured continuous transmission of measurement data without relying on public cellular networks, providing reliable and uninterrupted monitoring throughout the event.

In addition, several security cameras were connected through the Private LTE network using 4G routers installed in the camera cabinets. This ensured continuous connectivity without relying on public mobile networks, allowing live video streams to remain available throughout the event.

Crew communications

More than 100 crew members were equipped with eSIMs on the Private LTE network, ensuring reliable communication and data connectivity for operational teams and emergency situations throughout the festival.

Operational services

The festival’s Check & Charge stations were connected using a Peplink BR2, delivering a stable wireless connection for the charging service and its supporting operations. Together, these solutions created a single, centrally managed network infrastructure capable of supporting both visitor-facing services and business-critical operations across the entire festival site.

Result

The deployment delivered a resilient and scalable network that performed reliably throughout the event. Operational services remained continuously connected, cashless payments could be processed without interruption, visitors had access to stable public Wi-Fi and monitoring systems operated independently of public mobile networks.

Virtical created a flexible event network that could be rapidly deployed, centrally managed and easily adapted to the diverse connectivity requirements of a modern festival. The result was a robust digital infrastructure that allowed the organization to focus on delivering a successful event rather than managing connectivity.
